AR-15 5.56/.223 16" stainless steel spiral fluted tactical upper assembly is designed as an upgrade to your standard AR-15 style rifle. Chambered in 223 Wylde, it may use very similar, but not identical, ammunition calibers: 5.56x45mm NATO and .223 Remington. Offered with 16-inch barrel providing an optimal length for general purpose use in an AR-15 platform, balancing the need for accuracy, velocity and portability. Barrel is made of 416R stainless steel, and is often used for its durability and resistance to corrosion. The spiral fluting is a design feature in which grooves are cut in a spiral pattern around the outside of the barrel. This helps to reduce weight and can also help with heat dissipation, which can help keep the barrel cooler during rapid firing.
Upper Assembly features:
Barrel - 16" 416 stainless steel hbar contour barrel with x-treme fluting. Hardened to 26-32 rc and stress relieved. Chambered in .223 Wylde (accepts both, 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem rounds). 1-8 rh twist 6 groove button rifled. .750 diameter under gas block. Threaded 1/2x28 with A2 flash hider and a crush washer. M4 feedramps.
A3 flat top upper receiver - made from certified 7075-T6 aluminum forgings. Black hardcoat anodized and teflon coated to gov. specs. Forward assist and dust cover installed. M4 feedramps.
Gas system - .750 low profile gas block, steel and black hardcoat anodized. Carbine stainless steel gas tube.
Handguards - 12" mid-length free floating mlok rail handguard. Made from aircraft quality aluminum and black hardcoat anodized.
