FAQs - Moriarti Armaments
Q: Can I buy a gun online?
A: Yes. Please refer to our How to buy a gun online section for step by step process.
Q: Can I Finance my purchase?
A: Yes, you can. We offer financing thru Credova Financial, a third party provider. You can pay in full or may choose financing option at the time of checkout.
Q: What is an AR-15 80% lower receiver?
A: An AR 15 80% lower receiver is an unfinished lower receiver that requires the user to complete the last few steps of machining in order to make it functional. Moriarti Armaments offers several different brand and model options for 80% lowers and all tools required for completing your own build. These 80% receivers offer a way for firearms enthusiasts to customize their own firearm without purchasing all parts individually or having someone else do the work themselves.
Q: Do you require a Federal Arms License (FFL) to buy an 80% lower receiver?
A: No, you do not need an FFL to buy 80% lower receivers from Moriarti Armaments. We understand that firearms laws vary from state to state, so please check your local and state regulations before purchasing or building any firearm.
Q: Can you ship a build kit directly to my house?
A: Yes. In fact, we can only ship 80 percent build kit directly to you. FFL will not accept or transfer the kit to you as it is not an FFL transfer item.
Q: What is the difference between a complete lower receiver and a stripped lower receiver?
A: A complete lower receiver will include all the internal components, or lower parts kit, such as the trigger assembly, safety selector, bolt catch, magazine release, pistol grip, and stock. A stripped lower receiver does not include these internal components and requires additional parts for it to be fully functional. Our 80% lowers are considered stripped receivers.
Q: Do you require a Federal Arms License (FFL) to build a firearm for personal use?
A: No, you do not need an FFL to build a firearm for your own personal use. Under the Gun Control Act of 1968, it is legal for individuals to build and possess firearms for their own personal use, provided that the firearm is not being built with the intention of selling or transferring it to another person.
Q: Are there any instructions included with the 80% build kits?
A: No, for legal purposes, there are no instructions included with any DIY projects. However, a quick internet search for "AR 15 80% lower completion instructions" will yield plenty of web pages and videos that can walk you through the process of completing your own build.
Q: Are Moriarti Armaments stripped lower receivers compatible with other AR parts and manufacturers?
A: Yes, all of our lower receivers are milspec and compatible with virtually all milspec AR 15 components, such as triggers, stocks, buffer tubes, pistol grips, and more. However, we strongly recommend checking compatibility before purchasing. Please read About Us section to learn about Moriarti.
Q: What are the potential uses of an 80% lower receiver?
A: 80% lower receivers can be used to build a variety of firearm calibers, including .223 Remington/5.56 NATO and .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO. They can also be used to assemble a pistol or Rifle, allowing you to customize it the way you want without having to purchase all parts separately. Ultimately, 80% lowers offer firearms enthusiasts a way to build their own custom firearm without needing a Federal Arms License (FFL) or other special expertise.
