What should I look for when buying an AR-15 lower receiver?

When choosing an AR-15 lower receiver, consider whether you want a stripped or complete lower, forged or billet construction, manufacturer, finish, and included components. A stripped lower provides the receiver itself for further configuration, while a complete lower generally includes installed lower components and may include a buffer system and furniture. Always confirm compatibility with the intended upper and follow applicable transfer and configuration requirements.

FAQ

Do lower receivers ship to an FFL?

Yes. The lower receiver is the serialized firearm part, so every stripped or complete lower ships to your local FFL dealer for transfer.

What is the difference between a stripped and a complete lower?

A stripped lower is the receiver only. A complete lower comes with the lower parts kit, buffer system and a stock or brace installed.

What does a "Multi" caliber marking mean?

The lower can be used with uppers in any caliber that runs on a standard AR-15 lower.

Are there state restrictions on binary or forced-reset triggers?

Some states and localities restrict them. Check your state and local laws before ordering.
