In this article, we will explore the main differences and compatibilities of AR-15 and AR-10 rifles, which of their parts are different and which are the same, and what you can buy for both rifles to save a buck.

First, a little history. The ArmaLite AR-10 is a 7.62×51mm NATO battle rifle designed by Eugene Stoner in the late 1950s and manufactured by ArmaLite. It failed completely. Armalite didn't win the military contract, but got the notes that they wanted a more compact version, Stoner went back to work with a redesign resulting in the AR15, chambered in 5.56mm NATO, being released the very next year.

This setback caused the...

Gun laws in Florida are responsible for overseeing the use, sale and possession of guns. You

need to be at least 18 to purchase a long gun and 21 to buy a handgun in Florida. Here are

some other extensive requirements when purchasing a gun or firearm accessories online.

Buying a Gun Without Licensure

While you don’t need any specialized permit, licensure, or fingerprints to purchase a gun in the

state, you do need to wait for at least five days to buy a handgun or receivers. On the other

hand, you have to wait for at least three days to buy a rifle or shotgun. That said, you need a

concealed weapon permit to carry a hidden handgun.

The Glock 19 is a smaller version of the Glock 17 and its is a compact, polymer-framed, semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm. Reliability and simplicity have made GLOCK® G19 Semi-Auto Pistol one of the most widely used sidearms in law enforcement worldwide. With current laws constantly changing around AR-15 platform, GLOCK® KITS as DYI projects are becoming more and more popular across the nation.

So what's all the rush?

GLOCK® KIT is a DIY firearm kit that contains all of the necessary parts and

components to build a functional Glock 19 pistol. It typically includes a frame, a slide, a

barrel, and all of the internal parts needed to...

In this article, we are comparing the ballistics of 308 long range barrels, ranging from 20 inch to 24 inch. Featuring 24" 308 Black Hole Weaponry Upper Receiver Assembly, which is a base for our Moriarti's  24" AR-10 .308 Long Range Varmint Stainless Steel Rifle; it is by far the most desirable and sought after AR-10 rifle.

Scarce to find, this became an absolute favorite of our clients who are willing to wait sometimes months at a time for barrels to arrive from production. These barrels are designed for Moriarti Armaments by Black Hole Weaponry.

There are several manufacturers of 308 caliber AR-family rifles now. Most of them will interchange with one system or another, but it can be tough to keep track of which one is which. While many components are the same, for instance, your 308 standard lower parts kits, the design of DPMS style upper and lower can vary greatly. Previously, I had described the differences in 308 DPMS styles, however let's address major manufacturers compatibility.

Moriarti Armaments - your true DPMS 308 low profile design

DPMS - Gen 1 308 is a low profile design. However, be careful with DPMS Gen 2 - that's a hybrid between AR-15 and AR-10 models, and won't...

Still, the biggest question that I get, is what type of receiver one has. Let's look at the differences between DPMS style 308 uppers.

One simple very generic distinction is that the older, "high profile," upper will have the forward assist all the way at the end. The new, "low profile," resembles an AR-15 slicker design, the forward will be somewhat towards the middle.

The older, "high profile" design will remind you of the bulkier, rectangular build vs. the low profile is slicker, thinner and smoother.

Finally, the pane. The new "low profile " upper receiver has a 1/8" wide top portion where the charging handle is installed while the...

Of all the parts of an AR15, the one part that is not standardized is the buttstock buffer tube.

At first you would think the difference is just the diameter of the tube itself but that's just the first thing give folks trouble when matching up the different tubes and butt stocks.

The commercial tube is 1.17" diameter and the mil. spec. is 1.14" diameter. So even though a "commercial" buttstock will fit on a mil.spec tube, it will be loose and I guess you could even force fit a mil. spec. buttstock onto commercial tube, I wouldn't if I were you.

The threads on both types are the same as far as thread pitch and diameter. The...
