The Moriarti Armaments AR-40 .40 S&W Blowback Pistol combines a compact 8-inch barrel, Glock-magazine compatibility, and a dedicated LRBHO (Last Round Bolt Hold Open) upper receiver in a customizable AR-style pistol platform. Shown in Gold Cerakote, this AR-40 is available in a variety of color finishes so you can choose the configuration that matches your style.

At the center of this build is the slick-side LRBHO upper receiver, designed to provide last-round bolt hold-open functionality with the compatible lower and magazine setup. For shooters comparing .40 S&W AR platforms, LRBHO provides a major functional advantage over basic non-LRBHO blowback configurations.

The 8" .40 S&W barrel is manufactured from 4150 nitride-treated chromoly steel with a 1:16 twist and 5/8x24 muzzle threads. A free-float 7" M-LOK handguard provides a compact profile and accessory mounting space, while the direct-blowback operating system uses a nitride-finished, Glock-compatible bolt and an 8 oz buffer.

The pistol is built around Moriarti's MA-9 billet 7075-T6 aluminum lower receiver and is configured for Glock-pattern .40 S&W magazines. Glock factory magazines are recommended for best reliability.

LRBHO Upper Receiver

A key feature of this Moriarti AR-40 is its LRBHO upper receiver. LRBHO stands for Last Round Bolt Hold Open, allowing the bolt to remain open after the last round when used with the appropriate compatible components and magazine. This gives the AR-40 more familiar AR-style operation compared with many basic blowback PCC configurations that do not offer last-round bolt hold-open functionality.
