What is the advantage of an ambidextrous AR-15 charging handle?

An ambidextrous AR-15 charging handle provides operating surfaces on both sides of the handle, allowing it to be manipulated from either side of the rifle. This can be useful for left-handed shooters and for users who prefer greater flexibility compared with a traditional single-latch charging handle.
