Why is 6mm ARC a good cartridge for the AR-15 platform?

6mm ARC was developed to provide efficient 6mm ballistic performance while fitting within the AR-15 platform. It uses high-ballistic-coefficient projectiles that can retain velocity and energy efficiently at distance while allowing shooters to use the smaller AR platform rather than moving to a larger AR-10-style firearm. A 6mm ARC AR-15 requires caliber-compatible components, including the appropriate barrel, bolt, and magazine. Performance varies with ammunition, barrel length, and firearm configuration.
